Is this event really free?
YES — The organisers are committed to creating a community and receive no benefit from the event other than the community. We rely on the support of the venue hosts for a free event space.

Attending

What can I expect at a {dev.talk} event?
A typical event runs for around 2 hours. After check-in you'll receive a name badge and can grab a soft drink while networking. The evening features two software-focused talks, each followed by audience Q&A, with a networking break in between. There's often time to chat after the event too. Do I need to register / get a ticket?
Yes — free tickets are required to help us manage capacity. Tickets are available here. If your plans change, please cancel so others can take your spot.

I am just learning, can I come?
YES — Everyone is welcome. Come and meet people from all stages in their career.

Can I bring a friend or colleague?
Absolutely! Everyone is welcome — they just need to grab their own free ticket.

Will there be refreshments?
Soft drinks and biscuits will be provided.

What if I can't make it after registering?
Please cancel your ticket via the ticketing app or email us at contactus@devdottalk.uk. This helps us manage capacity and allows others to attend.

Speaking

How do I become a speaker?
We welcome speakers of all experience levels — from lightning talks to in-depth sessions! Visit our Call for Speakers page to find out more and submit your proposal. We'll help you with ideas, structure, and practice if needed.

Will my talk be recorded?
Yes — talks are usually recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel. If you have any concerns about recording, please let the organisers know in advance.
Community & Support

Are there going to be recruitment agencies attending?
No selling or promotion of services is allowed at our event. Any person found doing so will be asked to leave.

Can we contribute to the refreshments?
